Light petroleum products that dissolve, dilute, wash and extract certain substances are flammable and volatile. Light oil fractions with a narrow boiling point range obtained from crude oil by conventional pressure distillation (see crude distillation) can be refined and extracted by acid-base refining (see petroleum product refining) or distillation from residue extracted from catalytic reforming products after aromatics. The main components are alkanes, cycloalkanes and a small amount of aromatic compounds, without any additives.

Petroleum solvents are generally classified into 70, 90, 120, 180, 190 and 200 grades according to their 98% distillation temperature or dry point (100% distillation temperature).

(1) The boiling range of 120 solvent oil (also known as rubber solvent oil) is 80-120 ℃. It can be used to dissolve adhesives and prepare mortar in the production of tires and rubber shoes. It can also be used as a thinner for special quick drying paints and pigments. It can also be used as an instrument cleaner.

(2) 90 solvent oil, also known as petroleum ether, boiling range is 60-90 ℃. It is mainly used as industrial solvent and chemical reagent. It can also be used to extract active ingredients of drugs, nicotine in tobacco leaves and oils in animals and plants.

(3) No.70 solvent oil, also known as fragrant flower solvent oil, boiling range of 60-70 ℃ is mainly composed of saturated hydrocarbons, and its allowable content of aromatic and unsaturated hydrocarbons is very low. The daily chemical industry department is used to extract the essence of spices, and the oil industry department is used to extract oil from the oil.

(4) No. 190 solvent oil is also known as industrial gasoline with boiling range of 40-190c. It is mainly used for cleaning various mechanical parts, as a solvent in pesticide and pharmaceutical industries, and as fuel for blowtorch and lighter.

(5) 180 solvent oil, also known as aviation washing oil, boiling range is 40-180 ℃, and its refining system is deeper. It is used for cleaning mechanical parts and precision instruments of aeroengine.

(6) No. 200 solvent oil is also called coating solvent oil, usually called rosin flavor. Used as a thinner for coatings.
